gm cylinder deactivation problems
I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3. So now at 168 thousand miles it still runs good but gets bad gass mileage. I have driven it now for 2 days without issue but I am having the AFM disabled/tuned out today. Oil flows to the special lifters through theAFMtowers. Mine did at the exact same time. These trucks cost too much to have a terrible product. The oil pump is high volume, but there are a lot of people that dont change it and rely on the pressure valve to keep the volume manageable. My question is: do I install the electronic disabler on the new engine to avoid future issues? Can I (should I) also change to a standard volume oil pump? Did Obama make them do this?
