2018 chevy malibu transmission problems
18V358000. Three times. Tension from the brakes and couldn't stop when tried. When I was on the highway, it stalled causing me to have to pull over onside the road. The contact stated that the automatic stop feature caused the vehicle to stop while in motion. There was absolutely no warning of a problem prior to the incident. My car has been in and out of the dealership service department for months because of a "sticking" sensation in the steering while driving the car at highways speeds. I BOUGHT MY CAR A FEW WEEKS AGO, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND OFF I HAVE A CERTIFIED WARRANTY. I put my hazard lights on and parked my vehicle. I turned the car off and back on. According to the NHTSA, more than half of the complaints about the 2018 Malibu pertained to the engine and fuel systems. No other issues since. Sat there a few minutes couldnt get ahold of anyone because its the middle of the night!! I put my car into park and turn the car off. I contacted gm they basically said they can not determine what will happen when the work is completed but that it is warrantied. It has happened almost everyday since beginning of january 2021. Every day you get in your car and wonder if today is the day you die because your vehicle failed to perform at a critical moment. Ready to trade car but still owe 18,000 so under water. Get answers and make your voice heard! It's only has 9100 in mileage and I've taken it to my dealership in parkville, md 21234(jerry's chevrolet)since my purchase date in march of 2018. I had the batteries replaced twice in the last 2 years,there is no faulty in the battery. The car will not lock and battery will die down if you can't get it to sense that the car is in park. Had to take it to dealership to be repaired on 9/6/22. If it does not, I have to repeat this process over and over again until the message does go away. Then turn engine off. The failure mileage was approximately 17,500. LUCKILY I HAVE EITHER BEEN IN TRAFFIC, IN A PARKING LOT AND A GREEN LIGHT WHEN THIS HAPPENS BUT THIS IS AN ISSUE. The car also was doing it one time when we seen smoke coming from under the hood and we could not get out. It was repair 3 months after I bought it but it didn't fix the issue. The car wouldn't turn off when I pressed the start/stop button. My car had a recall for the ecm module needed updated but auto nation said it didn't need to be updated after getting my car back it wouldn't start I would have to lock it unlock it open the door a few times and then it would start, so my battery got fried because something was draining it paid 200$ for a new one because auto nation said they didn't touch the car because it didn't need an update but what gets me is they had to plug into it to find out it didn't need an update, then the car started saying (shifter to park) got gm corporate involved and they made an appointment 1/13/2020 at chapman for me to take my car in to figure out that I needed a new wiring harness from the shifter to the transmission and they updated the ecm module but yet auto nation said it didn't need the update, so basically the auto nation doesn't want to take responsibility for the car messing up. This is very dangerous as you cant accelerate to get out of traffic or to get across the lanes. This is a hazard to myself and other drivers especially when on the highway, driving at higher speeds. A recall should be made with this many issues. My malibu was affected by this issue. I purchased a 2018 Chevy Malibu back in 2018 and one of my main concern was the auto stop feature when I press brake and come to a complete stop engine shuts off but if I dont hold brake firmly down the car will roll back then restart once brakes pedal is released, Hi, Bought a 2018 Chevy Malibu e 1 year and 2 months ago, and it had 22,000 on it and in one year at 60,000 miles I was at light and when light turned green my engine light came on my transmission started jumping and I got it to about 45 miles an hour and low speed light came on engine missing and the worst at 45 miles and hour my brakes stopped working because engine and electronics had issue and I had to use two feet on brake and put car in neutral to slow car downs and thank God was able get car stopped on side road. 2/9/20, 1/24/20, 12/8/19, Power steering reducing and the car will shut off temporarily I had my car serviced for this already 2 weeks ago for the same problem now it's happening again, Check engine light and reduced engine power vehicle won't accelerate on highway in traffic. Since then this car but our lives at risk two times. Updated ecm software does not work. The truth is that several Chevy Bolt, Chevy Malibu and Chevy Silverado owners have reported several complaints which have led to successful Lemon Law claims against Chevy. Finally got in contact with dealership who recommended I disconnect the battery cable until I can get the car into the shop. Tried to leave car in garage but lights and radio kept running. A police report was filed. Have looked it up on youtube and many others also deal with this problem. Hit deer driving highway speed, drivers side. I've tried taking it to the dealership but they can't fix anything when the light isn't active. I bought my car in over five times already I have contacted corporate to no avail.
